This patch brings a lot of fixes to the game that have been much needed since the games launch. Now we have the Spring update, the last update that Echtra Games, will be providing to Torchlight before Zynga takes over the IP. It is just another Torchlight game with not pushing the game forward much. ![]() Today, Boxers are one of the most popular dog breeds in America and around the world. A few American soldiers brought these dogs back to the States with them after the war. One Thing You Need To Ask Your Dog Breederīoxers remained very popular throughout Europe, but it wasn’t until after World War I that they started becoming known in America. Some say that they may have been brought to Europe by Alexander the Great others say that their ancestors were ancient hunting dogs from Egypt still, other people claim that the Boxer is descended from dogs that were used to drive cattle. The breed’s history is rather mysterious and no one knows for sure where it originated from. Boxers love to be with their families and can adapt easily to any living situation.
![]() "It's that last scene that is, more than anything, comforting to people. Yet this heaven-filled finish took even greater significance when the departed loved one became Swayze, who died at age 57 in 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Patrick Swayze's Sam Wheat, a ghost after his murder, professes eternal love and kisses his tearful lover Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) amid a symphonic swelling of their song "Unchained Melody." He says farewell to psychic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg) before uttering the immortal line, "The love inside, you take it with you" and walking into celestial lights.ĭirector Jerry Zucker says that for years after "Ghost" became the highest-grossing film of 1990, fans would write letters explaining how the ending helped them deal with the death of a loved one. I will say without giving anything away that this movie does have a good message about coping with the loss of a loved one however it still doesnt take away from the sadness of the story and very sensitive viewers will be likely to cry at different times. For 30 years, "Ghost" has been a romantic weeper with its emotionally unchained ending. Although Patrick Swayze's character is a good role model, Whoopi Goldberg's character really isnt and is portrayed as a charlatan for a majority of the movie, and Demi Moore's character tries to do the right thing for the most part but she is also very vulnerable and manipulated by the villians so she is only somewhat of a good role model. It's still a classic and only a couple small parts make it seem a little dated but aside from those it holds up like a fine wine. For 14 and up it makes a great date movie or you can even enjoy it as a family with 14 and up kids, but be advised it is a very violent and sad movie along with a lot of profanity so use discretion. Additionally the villians are very threatening and may also frighten some sensitive viewers. Some of the scenes of ghosts and spirits will also frighten younger children. Do not watch if you have grieved over the loss of a loved one recently. Although the movie is very funny and exciting at times it is also an extremely sad story about death and the afterlife. There is no actual sex or nudity, however the famous pottery scene does come very close to an actual sexual encounter but it stops before anything too explicit happens. While there is only one f-word, there are many other uses of other profanities and multiple uses of the Lord's name in vain, so if that bothers you steer clear unless you are watching with some type of filter. Expect to hear some type of profanity in almost every scene. This movie is very violent for a PG-13, and the violence I feel pushes it closer to an R alone. Sure there is a lot worse content in many R rated films but I feel this is a very hard PG-13 which may have been edited to avoid an R rating. However if you're kids want to watch this please take the PG-13 rating very seriously. ![]() ![]() While guys may be quick to dismiss this as a chick flick, think twice this is a romance movie but there are moments where it is a thriller, mystery and even yes at times a comedy. This movie has everything you could want a movie to have. The acting from the late Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg is all incredible. There is a reason it was the most popular film of its year and is still considered a classic over 30 years later. ![]() ![]() ![]() We will use the DESCRIBE query to get an idea of what the table structure is like. This is not something we will be able to replicate across every project. In the case of Beacon Street, we have been able to find very specific ways to retain more trees than previously accounted for. ![]() We understand that feedback is important and circumstances may change and we try to account for that as any project progresses. The best and most important time to make these decisions is during the design phase prior to the start of construction so that the project team can appropriately balance the equal needs of accessibility, safety, parking, quality of life, cost, and other factors. In many cases, tree preservation is extremely complex, may result in short- or long-term damage to the tree structure, and could present future risks to public safety.Įach project is unique and is reviewed independently to determine which, if any, trees must be recommended for removal. To do so, project engineers must navigate a complex system of design criteria and existing utilities including compliance with federal and state accessibility codes, relocation or replacement of buried utilities in streets and sidewalks, allowing for proper draining structure to prevent significant flooding, and ensuring that the final design adheres to traffic safety standards. Projects of this nature are typically undertaken to upgrade and replace significantly aging underground infrastructure and/or to make safety improvements to road and sidewalk surfaces. It is also important to understand the challenges of protecting mature trees in large reconstruction projects. If a hazardous condition is detected, a tree will be removed and replaced just like it would anywhere in the City. It is possible that one or more of these trees will exhibit signs of failing health in the coming years despite the best efforts of contractors and City staff to protect them from additional harm, and our City staff will monitor them closely to protect public safety. ![]() These four trees have been surviving in a sub-optimal environment despite our overall expanded efforts to preserve, maintain, and grow our urban forest and tree canopy, and this reconstruction project will not fundamentally improve their growing conditions. ![]() In the meantime, MassDOT has directed their contractor to adjust the construction to preserve a mature pear tree at 85 Beacon, and three smaller pear trees at 47 Beacon (at Whole Foods), 15 Beacon and 11 Beacon.Īt the same time, it is important to understand that trees in urban environments exist under great stress compared to suburban and rural environments. MassDOT leadership has endorsed our proposal and is conducting a final technical review before finalizing amended designs. Although those trees had been identified for removal and replacement in the state’s construction contract and in the design plans, I directed my staff to evaluate whether field changes to the project design could potentially result in the preservation of one or more trees.Īfter significant and careful consideration of each tree, their surroundings, and the impacts on both the community and the project outcome, I am very happy to report that our City staff has recommended that four of the six remaining trees be preserved. Since October, following the tree removal work by the state’s contractor, my Administration has undertaken numerous efforts to respond to this challenge and improve the Beacon Street project, as well as the City’s policies around urban forestry and landscape management.ĭue to quick coordination by City staff, those tree removals were halted and we were able to save six living trees between Washington St. Like you, I place high value on our City’s tree canopy and understand how important trees are to overall quality of life. Larger grapefruit (compared to ones of the same variety) indicate they were left longer on the tree, so they will be sweeter. Grapefruits that are heavier for their size are juicier (because more water content makes them heavier). You can add sugar, salt, or even fat to fix it. If you run into bitter grapefruit, don't despair. Flame, ruby reds, and Oro Blanco all have lower bitterness. Less bitterness: bitterness inhibits our ability to taste sweetness, so varieties lower in bitterness make the fruit seem sweeter.Try buying grapefruit in March, April, and May. You can find them between December and March. The season for these two varieties is shorter since they aren't grown as widely as red grapefruit. They are known for having almost no bitterness, low acidity, and high sugar levels.Īn agriculturalist at the University of California says Melogolds are better for mass-farming, but Oro Blancos have better flavor. These varieties both have pale yellow flesh and are seedless. Oro Blanco and Melogold are a cross between pomelos and white grapefruit. However, the flavor is excellent and is great for juicing. ![]() The predominant variety, Duncan, is choke full of seeds. It's very rare to find white grapefruit sold in the stores. Pink grapefruit have a more salmon-pink colored flesh than red varieties. Flame grapefruit are one of the sweetest varieties. It's a mutation of Ruby Red that was discovered in a citrus grove in Texas. If you can find red grapefruit labeled as Flame, give them a try. Two of the main varieties are Rio Red and Star Ruby (sometimes labeled as, Rio Star). These include several types of grapefruit that might be labeled as 'Ruby Red' or by their varietal names. Ruby Red has since become an entire category of grapefruit grown in Texas as a result of breeding programs to get redder and sweeter flesh. Ruby Red grapefruit is one of the most popular varietals grown today. Grapefruit have become more marketable over the years thanks to breeding programs that increase the sugar content while also reducing the number of seeds. A general rule of thumb is that the sweeter varieties have a deep red flesh. There are white, red, and pink varieties. California grapefruit are available from January through June. Southern California has recently become a big player in the grapefruit industry and their season covers the summer supply gap in the Florida and Texas market. Texas and Florida are the two dominant grapefruit growers, with their season starting in November and lasting until May. That's because they ship well, thanks to their thick, protective peel. If you don't live in a state that grows grapefruit, you can still get high quality ones in your area. Grapefruit are available from fall through spring, thanks to the different climates from big growers like Texas, Florida, and California. In December 2011, NASA announced that Kepler had found its first planet, Kepler-22b, in the habitable zone of a star. ![]() In September, mission scientists announced the discovery of a planet, Kepler-16b, orbiting two stars, where we might expect a double sunset, much like the fictional planet Tatooine depicted in the film "Star Wars." A subsequent double-star system was announced in January 2012 and multiple planets orbiting multiple stars- the Kepler-47 system- was announced in August 2012. In both cases, in February and March, the Kepler project team was able to revive the vehicle relatively quickly, within two to three days. The spacecraft essentially shut down science operations as a result of a suspected anomaly. In 2011, Kepler suffered at least two safe mode events. NASA announced in February 2011 that these planets were larger than Earth, with the largest ones comparable in size to Uranus and Neptune. The planetary system orbiting Kepler-11, a yellow dwarf star about 2,000 light years from Earth, included six planets. That discovery was the result of surveying more than 156,000 stars over a period of seven months. In April 2010, mission scientists published results that showed that Kepler had discovered the first confirmed planetary system with more than one planet transiting the same star, Kepler-9. During its first six weeks of operation, Kepler discovered five exoplanets- named Kepler 4b, 5b, 6b, 7b and 8b (which NASA announced in January 2010). Less than a month later, on May 13, Kepler finished its commissioning and began its operational mission. In order to improve resolution, on April 23, mission planners optimized the focus of the telescope by moving the primary mirror 40 micrometers toward the focal plane and tilting it by 0.0072 degrees. It passed lunar orbit at 04:20 UT March 9, eventually entering heliocentric orbit at 0.97 × 1.041 AU at 0.5-degree inclination to the solar ecliptic. After another first stage burn, the second stage fired to set Kepler on an escape trajectory into solar orbit. Kepler was launched at 03:49:57 UT March 7, 2009, into an initial Earth orbit at 115 × 115 miles (185 × 185 kilometers) at a 28.5-degree inclination. Due to the modular design, the losses did not impact the rest of the instrument. The blackened gaps in the center and along the top of the image are the result of earlier random part failures in the camera. Kepler's "first light image" of its field of stars in 2009 (left) compared to its final image from 2018 (right). Kepler was designed to monitor about 100,000 main-sequence stars over a period of three-and-a-half years. The diameter of the telescope’s mirror was 4 feet, 7 inches (1.4 meters), one of the largest mirrors beyond Earth orbit. The spacecraft was basically a single instrument- a specially designed 3-foot (1-meter) diameter aperture telescope and image sensor array- with a spacecraft built around it. Kepler detected planets by observing transits, or tiny dips in the brightness of a star that occur when a planet crosses in front of the star. Its scientific goals included determining the abundance of these planets and the distribution of sizes and shapes of their orbits, estimating the number of planets in multiple-star systems, and determining the properties of stars that have planetary systems. Kepler was equipped to look for planets with size spans from one-half to twice the size of Earth (terrestrial planets) in the habitable zone of their stars where liquid water might exist in the natural state on the surface of the planet. The spacecraft was named after the famed German astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630).
